Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition in which the heart does not pump blood as efficiently as it should.
As a result, the heart may have difficulty supplying enough blood to meet the demands of the body.
CHF can progress over time, and the following symptoms may be present.

Symptoms of CHF may include:
Shortness of breath (dyspnea)
May be worse with activity
May be worse with lying down (orthopnea)
Lower extremity swelling (edema)
Abdominal swelling (ascites)
Weight gain (volume overload)
Fatigue
Palpitations or irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
Cough
Wheezing
Chest pain
